Fort Mason CenterFort Mason Center Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) Fort Mason has a history that pre-dates the Spanish and in more recent times was one of the nation's embarkation points for the Pacific Coast during 20th century conflicts. Now a National Historic Landmark and part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Fort Mason Center provides the Bay Area with facilities for meetings, conferences, performances, and special events. Venues within the complex include Buildings A through E, Firehouse, Gatehouse, Cowell Theatre, Herbst Pavilion, Festival Pavilion, West Pier and the Herbst International Exhibition Hall. Fort Mason is located between Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge with easy access to both MUNI and BART. The entrance is at the intersection of Marina Boulevard and Buchanan Street.
